It's Salsology's 5th Anniversary and what better way to mark it than with one of salsa's most sought after trombonists and band leaders..... Jimmy Bosch!

Jimmy will be joining us direct from NYC for a one-night-only celebration of 5 fantastic years at Salsology, joining the tremendous La Clave (Grupo X) for his first set here in the UK for far too long!

Salsology provides a fantastic backdrop for those of you who, like us, can't sit down to live music! With one of the largest wooden dance floors in a UK salsa club there will be no shortage of room to move and all the usual Salsology shenanigans.. don't miss it.

About Jimmy Bosch

jimmy_bosch_02.jpgA fiery exponent of the progressive sound often referred to as the most awesome Salsa band to dance to, listen to and watch in a concert setting, Bosch masterfully portrays his life experiences and musical inspiration creating Salsa for the next century.

As New York’s most sought after trombonist, he reinvigorates the Latin music scene by projecting his essence vis-à-vis, his emphatic solos, and rhythmic melodies which emanate from his soul and through his trombone.

Jimmy Bosch is and will continue to be hailed by international audiences and critics, from New York to Puerto Rico, France, England, Belgium, Spain, Holland, and countries throughout Latin America. To this day he calls himself a “fiebrú” (a feverish salsa head) and recognizes that he emerged both as an artist and a musician from his magical ability to impart his contagious passion. Bosch, a composer and a lyricist, is one of the most explosive and versatile trombonists of his generation.

Whether before a sold-out audience, or in the company of the fans at home, Bosch unabashedly raises the raw intensity of his all-star band, igniting the spirit to relish in the swinging and complex mosaic of contemporary Latin music at its best – Salsa Dura.

In recent weeks, Jimmy Bosch has performed rooms such as Dizzy's at Lincoln Center with Dion Parsons and Ron Blake, a Carribbean Jazz project. Next Jimmy was on tour with Steve Turre and the Shell Choir playing shells and trombone in Minnesota, Colorado Springs and Wilmington.

Immediately after, Jimmy joined his band at the airport for a trip to Maracay, Venezuela. The Jimmy Bosch band performed for over 25 thousand people over two shows. The audience in Maracay sang along to most of Jimmy's songs from all three CD productions. The shows were each over 2 hours long. The energy was amazing for the band and the audience alike.

Next Jimmy did a few shows with Eddie Palmieri in NY and in Miami to adoring fans of the old school salsa, followed by Jimmy performing with his Sexteto de Otro Mundo to some hardcore Salsa dancers at Vintage in White Plains and Sessions 73 in NYC.
